In July 2018, The Architecture Program, School of Architecture, Planning and Policy Development, Institut Teknologi Bandung (SAPPK – ITB) has been conducting an International Summer Program which is underlining a topic “Digital Tectonics – Built Environment Design in the Era of Computational.

In this program, reputable lecturers from National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore
University of Technology and Design (SUTD), Yunlin National University of Science and
Technology-Taiwan, University of Eindhoven-the Netherland and Architectural Association,
School of Architecture- London, UK were invited to share their knowledge and experiences
through lecture sessions and workshops. This program was also inviting lecturers from reputable national universities such as from Universitas Gajah Mada in Yogyakarta, Telkom University in Bandung, and Universitas Pelita Harapan in Jakarta.

Dani Hermawan as one of the representation from School of Design of Universitas Pelita Harapan as well as a computational designer in practice at Formologix was contributing as a lecturer and tutor for three days workshop: Introduction Parametric Associative Modeling – Digital Tooling & Algorithmic-based Form Finding and Optimization (18th-20th of July).

The Summer Program was attract great enthusiasm both academia and professionals in learning a new way of iterative tooling mechanism, enabling the coherent interplay of material, technology, and architecture. We are looking forward for another similar successful event for broadening the knowledge of computational design in Indonesia.
